HISTORY: Vertibratians are not skeletons. They are a microscopic parasite that lives in the bone marrow of living beings. When a living organism is inhabited by a Vertabratian,the die almost instantly. The flesh on the body decomposes until only the skeleton is left (though, most Vertabratians prefer to have the flesh boiled off, and the bones bleached). While the organism is living in the bone marrow, it can move the existing skeleton telepathically to mimic the movements usually handled by the muscles. If a Vetrabratian is "killed" (that is, having the bones broken), it will die instantly because it cannot survive outside of the body. A Vertabratian who wants to inhabit a new skeleton will usually bite his/her new host to pass the parasitic organism. Vertabratians, despite their best efforts, are not very influencial in the Galactic Congress- they are accepted by some of the representitives, but mostly are misunderstood and feared.

FUN FACT: Vertabratians exist in the skeletal form of almost every race in the galaxy.
